New openGear Cards From Cobalt at IBC 2025 Offer You Higher Density, Lower Latency, and Much More

If you need to sync dozens of sources without filling racks with gear, you’ll want to know about Cobalt’s new quad-channel 12G frame sync. The 9924-4FS, one of Cobalt’s openGear cards, adds to their line of frame syncs with this higher density option.

That was one of many openGear cards Suzana Brady of Cobalt Digital highlighted on the show floor at IBC 2025.

In addition to the quad-channel frame sync, you’ll also see a new 12G auto-changeover/ bypass protection switch, as well as a whole new series of fiber converter cards, the CYAN 9440 series.

The popular and long-standing openGear encoder cards, the PACIFIC 9992-ENC-INDIGO, now offers ST 2110 inputs in addition to MPEG-2, MPEG-4, MPEG-5, and 4K. And the pairing decoder, the PACIFIC ULL-DEC, which is 4K ultra-low latency and ideal for REMI applications, is also a newer card on display at the Cobalt stand.
